Today I’m sharing more info on Pinterest content, why it’s important to have consistent, fresh content for Pinterest, and how to create content. Pinterest likes when users create new content because having fresh content means people will visit Pinterest more often and stick around for longer. Think about visiting your favorite store. If they had the same items each time you shopped, you’re probably not going to go back that often. Pinterest is the same. Therefore, you want to create fresh pins so that you are showing up on your ideal client’s feed. Let’s talk about a few ways to create fresh, consistent Pinterest content.
How to Create Fresh Pinterest Content
If you’re looking for the best source of Pinterest content, then look no further than the blogs on your website. Blogs are packed with information that’s perfect to share on Pinterest. Plus they’re usually full of images which you’ll need for Pinterest since it’s a visual search engine.
Whether it’s a real wedding post, a styled shoot, or an educational post, creating pins from blogs is super easy. For real weddings or styled shoots, you can easily create 15 to 20 pins for that blog post by highlighting different parts of the day. For an educational blog post, you can create five to seven pins from that post using images and graphics. It’s important to have new content to create pins from, so I recommend publishing at least two new blogs per month.
Revisit Old Pins that Perform Well
Another place to find new Pinterest content is to go back to your old pins. Go to your Pinterest analytics and see what your top performing pins are. Then review those pins and see what you can change to create another high ranking pin. For example, if it’s a graphic pin, try creating a new graphic pin with a different image or color scheme. Then come up with a new keyword-rich pin title and description and pin it to the most relevant board.
Create New Pinterest Content Using Underperforming Pins
In a similar manner, it’s worth revisiting older pins that didn’t perform well to see what you can do to improve them. Take a look back at pins that are six months old or older that have had plenty of time to circulate around Pinterest. Could you include more keywords? Create a better graphic or choose a stronger image? Pin it at a different time? Try to go back and create a new pin that is similar to your pins that perform well to see if you can create a pin that will perform better.
When it comes to Pinterest content, the most important thing is having fresh, consistent content published on your website that you can create pins from. If you don’t have new links to share on Pinterest, your content will most likely not rank high in the Pinterest algorithm since it will think your account is stale.
