Why Wedding Planners Need A Virtual Assistant

This is a pretty strong statement, but I think most, if not all, wedding planners need a virtual assistant.  Here are some reasons why hiring a VA may be a smart decision for you.

  • As a wedding planner, you can pass off tedious admin tasks to a virtual assistant, so that you can focus on tasks that only you can complete.
  • Hiring a virtual assistant will also allow you to spend more time focusing on your clients and their weddings.
  • You can also have a better work life balance when you outsource tasks.  That means fewer late nights and not working on non-wedding weekends.  Doesn’t that sound like a dream?!

Hiring a Virtual Assistant Means You Can Focus On Tasks Only You Can Complete

A lot of the tasks that take up valuable time are tasks that wedding planners can easily train a virtual assistant to do.  This will allow you to focus on bigger picture tasks and things that actually make you money.  Some of the tasks that can be outsourced include inbox management, calendar management, responding to inquiries, social media, blogging, etc.  The list goes on and on.

One way to start deciding what tasks to outsource is listing out all the tasks you complete in a typical week.  Then go through the list and put a star next to the tasks that only you can do.  This is going to look different for every business.  For example, some planners may feel comfortable having a VA manage their inbox while others won’t.  The tasks that aren’t starred are the ones that you can pass off to a VA. Now you’ll have a better idea of what tasks you want to outsource when you start looking for a VA.

Spend More Time Focusing On Your Clients And Their Weddings

If you’re like most wedding planners, you didn’t get into the wedding planning business to be an accountant, social media manager, customer service rep, etc.  You started your business because you wanted to work with clients and make their wedding dreams come true.  However, you quickly realized that running a business is a full time job on its own.

Having a virtual assistant as a wedding planner is going to allow you to get back to doing what you love  – working with your amazing clients and creating the wedding of their dreams.  You’ll be able to pass off all the boring business tasks to someone who loves those types of tasks.  That means you’ll get to focus on logistics, design, relationships… Whatever parts of your wedding planning business that you love!

A Better Work-Life Balance Is In Your Future When You Hire A Virtual Assistant!

You may have started your own businesses because you’re tired of the 9 to 5, corporate lifestyle.  You wanted to be creative, make your own schedule, take vacation whenever you want to, etc.  Then reality sets in and you find yourself working 24/7, never taking breaks, and questioning why you became a wedding planner.

Good news, a virtual assistant can help you reach a better work-life balance!  Handing over tasks like lead management, client onboarding, and social media scheduling means you’ll get back some time in your day. Plus you may be able to turn off your computer a lot earlier.  Since those things are someone else’s responsibility, you can step away for a bit and take some time for yourself.

Ready To Learn More About Working With A Virtual Assistant?

I could go on and on about why wedding planners need a virtual assistant.  At the end of the day, running a business can be a lonely and overwhelming journey.  Having someone work alongside you that you can trust and loves your business just as much as you do is something everyone deserves.
